- Layer, baste and quilt the top as desired. The example was quilted in the center with an old fashioned feathered wreath design measuring about 6 inches across. The wreath design was simply cut in half for the sides, top and bottom quilting: and it was cut by one fourth for the four corners.
- After the quilting is complete, the quilt is ready for the hanging sleeve. Turn under the two short sides and one long side of the hanging sleeve and stitch down. Center the sleeve, right side up, on the back of the quilt aligning the top edges. Sew the sleeve in place using a 1/4" seam allowance across the top of the quilt. Using an over cast or hem stitch, taking care not to sew through to the front.
- Sew together the three strips cut for binding to make one continuous strip. Fold lengthwise, wrong sides together, and press binding. Attach the binding with a 3/8" seam allowance and your preferred method of joining. Fold the binding over the outside edge and secure down using an over cast or applique stich.
Don't forget to label your quilt with your name and date!
